On September 18, 2022, at approximately 3:47am, Dallas Police responded to a one vehicle roll-over crash, involving a 2015 white Ford pickup truck, at southbound Julius Schepps Freeway and Overton Road. When officers arrived they did not locate any person inside or around the vehicle.
The preliminary investigation determined a witness helped the male driver out of the vehicle and he was last seen walking north in the southbound lanes of Julius Schepps Freeway. Air 1 was brought in to search, but the driver was not located.
The afternoon of September 18, the family of the driver, identified as 42-year-old Fernando Escobedo, contacted Dallas Police to file a missing person report and Texas Search and Rescue to help in finding the driver.
On September 19, 2022, Texas Search and Rescue contacted Dallas Police to report they found Escobedo under a bridge in the area of 5100 Julius Schepps Freeway.
At this time the investigation into Escobedo’s death is ongoing.
