A newly released video reveals a Florida homeowner firing a rifle at intruders last week. Now, deputies are trying to find one of the suspects who got away.
On July 7, three men approached an Escambia County home and forced their way inside, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Two men went into the house after the victim opened the door as third man waited out front holding a handgun, ECSO said.
The victim dropped a pistol during the encounter. It was then picked up by one of the intruders. Then, the victim ran to the back of the house where he had a rifle, grabbed it and began firing at the intruders. All three men scrambled to get away and managed to get into a vehicle where a fourth suspect was ready in the driver’s seat and pulled away from the driveway.
The vehicle hit a nearby mailbox while fleeing.
Deputies were able to find and arrest Da’Torrance Hackworth, 20, and Antonio Dewayne Dean Jr., 18. Both face multiple charges of use/display of a firearm during a felony, possession of a firearm by a felon, larceny, grand theft of a firearm, and robbery/home invasion with a firearm.
Deputies have yet to locate the third man, Joseph Roman Sanders, 18, who was standing guard by the front door and is wanted for home invasion with a firearm.
