EARLIER:Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in relation to an incident taking place in Warwick.
At 9.45am today (Monday September 5) police attended a semi-rural property on Bisley Street in relation to a welfare check on a man.
Upon arrival, police began negotiations with the man, who is in the home alone, and believed to be in possession of a firearm.
An emergency situation was declared at 11am, the area declared includes: Tooth Street, Bracker Road, Bisley Street and Cullen Street.
Specialist police are in attendance and police continue to negotiate with the man.
Residents within the declared areas must remain indoors until further notice.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area.
Traffic diversions are in place.
