

A deadly stabbing occurred at a high school in North Carolina Thursday morning.
One student was killed and another was injured just four days after school started, according to NBC.
A school resrouce officer at Northside High School in Jacksonville, N.C. responded within seconds and was able to apprehend the student suspected to be responsible.
Jacksonville Public Safety Director Mike Yaniero said officers were called just after 7 a.m. to respond to a report of a physical altercation between students on the campus.
One student was killed and two students were hospitalized, Yaniero said.
Officials said a staff member was also injured but wasn’t stabbed.

The school was closed after the incident and students were instructed to attend online classes on Friday.
