

One man was injured and a woman was arrested after a shooting early Wednesday morning in the Pioneer Square neighborhood.
At 2:30 a.m., officers on patrol heard multiple gunshots near 1st Avenue South and South Washington Street. A 911 caller soon reported a man had been shot in the 200 block of 1st Avenue South. Arriving officers began rendering aid to the 72-year-old man, who had a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Seattle Fire Department medics also responded and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
According to witnesses, the female suspect confronted the victim as she walked past him on the sidewalk, and then shot him. She fled the area on foot, but police soon found and arrested her nearby. Additionally, officers found and seized a gun from the woman’s cross-body bag after taking her into custody.
Police booked the 29-year-old woman into the King County Jail for first-degree assault.
