Domestic violence related charges, Mount Larcom

A 27-year-old man has been charged with a string of domestic violence and drug related offences which allegedly occurred between December 2019 and January 2022.

It will be alleged during this period the man unlawfully stalked a 30-year-old woman, contacting her thousands of times making threats – in one instance more than 280 times in a 24 hour period.

It is further alleged that this conduct was in breach of a domestic violence order (DVO).

In addition, in February this year it will be alleged the man contacted a 21-year-old woman in breach of a DVO.

Following extensive investigations involving officers from Gladstone, Bundaberg, Mackay, Redcliffe, Mount Larcom and Murgon divisions, inquiries led Murgon Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) detectives to intercept a vehicle at Mount Larcom on Wednesday (June 6).

The 27-year-old Machine Creek man, the passenger in the vehicle, was subsequently taken into custody.

He has been charged with 40 counts of breaching a domestic violence order, nine counts of threatening to distribute intimate image (domestic violence), 13 counts of supplying dangerous drugs (marijuana) and one count each of common assault (domestic violence) and unlawful stalking (domestic violence).

The man appeared before Gladstone Magistrates Court yesterday (June 7) and was remanded in custody.

His matter is next expected to be heard on August 30.
