
Assistant Sheriff Delgado is a 23-year veteran of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. He began his career in 1999 where he attended the 33rd Basic Correctional Deputy Academy. He was assigned to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility where he was a Corrections Training Officer. He has been assigned to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility, Cois Byrd Detention Center, Ben Clark Training Center, and Robert Presley Detention Center.
In 2003, Assistant Sheriff Delgado was promoted to the rank of Correctional Corporal and transferred to the Cois Byrd Detention Center, where he worked a variety of assignments including Floor Operations, Administration, and Transportation.
In 2006, he was transferred to the Ben Clark Training Center where he was a Recruit Training Officer. Later that year, he was promoted to the rank of Correctional Sergeant and transferred to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility where he worked Floor Operations.
In 2008, Assistant Sheriff Delgado was transferred to the Ben Clark Training Center and was assigned as the Corrections Academy Coordinator, where he was responsible for the recruits in the Basic Correctional Deputy Academy. He was also the coordinator for Advanced Officer Training for the Corrections Division.
In 2010, Assistant Sheriff Delgado promoted to the rank of Correctional Lieutenant and transferred to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility, where he managed the Transportation Unit for one year, then was assigned to Administration. He was also assigned to Floor Operations where he managed two teams. In 2014, he was assigned to the Robert Presley Detention Center, where he managed Business Office Operations, Floor Operations, and Administration.
In 2018, Assistant Sheriff Delgado was promoted to the rank of Correctional Captain and assigned to the Cois Byrd Detention Center where he oversaw the daily operations of the facility. On January 17th, 2019, Assistant Sheriff Delgado was appointed to Correctional Chief Deputy by Sheriff Chad Bianco and assigned to Sheriff’s Administration.
Assistant Sheriff Delgado possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Workforce Education from Southern Illinois University and a Master’s degree in Management awarded from the University of Redlands. He is also a graduate of the American Jail Association, Jail Command Academy and is a Certified Jail Manager.
Assistant Sheriff Delgado lives in the city of Moreno Valley with his wife and three children.
On July 29, 2021, Assistant Sheriff Delgado was appointed to his current rank by Sheriff Chad Bianco.
